Thermal power plants’ overhaul operation begins
TEHRAN- As announced by an official with Iran’s Thermal Power Plant Holding (TPPH), the overhaul operation of the country’s thermal power plants has been started.
Naser Eskandari, the deputy director of TPPH’s technical office for production, said: “Since the beginning of Mehr [the seventh Iranian calendar month beginning on September 22], the overhaul operations have begun on more than 110,000 megawatts capacity of thermal power plant throughout the country in order to increase the readiness of these units to produce sustainable electricity in the next year’s summer peak period.”
Summer months constitute Iran’s peak demand periods, so most of the power plant overhaul programs are scheduled to take place during autumn, winter and spring seasons.
